Since the gorgeous spring weather seems to have disappeared to wherever it came from, I've been forced to go back to my winter clothes for a bit. I still had these pictures lying around taken during a cold snap in the beginning of april, and with the returning chill in the air I figured this might be the last time in the next couple of months that this bundled up preppy outfit doesn't look completely out of place. Fingers crossed!

Natasja and I snapped these pictures right after I received my 40mm lens, right after my trusty 50mm died on me. It literally just broke into two pieces, spontaneously, right before I was going to take pictures. Talk about bad luck. After some going back and forth, I ended up buying a 40mm lens rather than a 50mm. Bbecause I was eager to try something new, because I like how thin the pancake lens is, because it can focus at a shorter distance from the subject, and because it has a slight wide angle effect compared to my 50mm lens. That means I get more background in the shot without having to step further backwards. I have to admit I miss my lower apertures (the 40mm has a max aperture of 2.8) but apart from that, I really like my little pancake lens. I'm sure it will be a great travel companion when we leave for Japan in a couple of weeks!

I hope you like the outfit, and that we get more typical spring/summer weather soon. Oh, and that you enjoy the new 40mm pics!
