I always forget how flattering and versatile bootcut jeans can be - we've all been brainwashed by skinny jeans, basically. And I get it, skinnies are cute and go with everything, but I remember the times before skinny jeans became mandatory. I remember going shopping with, for the first time, the explicit intent of finding a pair of super tight jeans. The year was 2005, and I was inspired by the style of Kate Moss and the indie rock scene.

Thing is, back then all we wore was bootcut denim or looser styles like cargo trousers or skater style pants. Our entire wardrobe revolved around those silhouettes. When skinnies were introduced (this is a great article on skinny jeans' popularity btw), it was difficult to find the tops and the footwear to make them work. Remember trying to wear your big, oversized skate shoes with skinnies? LOL. Now that we've all been sufficiently brainwashed, all of us at least one pair of skinnies in our wardrobe, it has become challenging to figure out what to pair with bootleg denim. And that's how fashion keeps motivating us to buy more stuff!

Anyway, thing is: bootcut denim is really worth giving a go if you've forgotten about them, super flattering and chic. The perfect denim to wear to work, if you ask me. I got these at WEFashion, and they're currently running a sale on their BlueRidge denim collection: you'll get a 50% discount on your second pair of denim. In case you want to shake up your denim game ;-) Also, how rad is this coat?? Love it. Reminds me of this other green coat I bought years and years ago, although the one I'm wearing today is a bit more sophisticated.

We're having takeout pizza tonigt (yeay!) and we went to see The Weeknd in concert last night, so life is good. Great show, btw, we danced our asses off. Have a lovely weekend!
